Event description

Description

As part of our REBORN theme we are hosting a special GOLDEN JOINERY workshop to help you learn the art of visible mending and extend the life of one of your favourite garments!

Inspired by the Japanese technique Kintsugi where broken porcelain is visibly healed with gold, fashion designer Saskia van Drimmelen and theatre director Margreet Sweerts run GOLDEN JOINERY workshops to help others explore the art of visible mending, celebrating the imperfection instead of hiding the repair.

To participate in the workshop you are requested to bring a torn, damaged or broken garment, so you can learn to mend it with gold, celebrating the imperfection instead of hiding the repair.

About GOLDEN JOINERY:

GOLDEN JOINERY is workshop by Painted, a collective led by fashion designer Saskia van Drimmelen and theatre director Margreet Sweerts. Instead of making multiple collections each year, their garments are part of an ever-growing series, like a band’s repertoire. They work together with masters in nearly forgotten crafts, sharing knowledge and the joy of making. Golden Joinery is a creative workshop given by Painted. Learn how to mend your clothing piece with a golden touch.
