Event description
An Iriss event to celebrate Co-production Week Scotland.

About this Event

The theme of Co-production Week 2019 is ‘The Big Questions’ and we’re hosting this free event to support you to understand what co-production is, and how to make it happen effectively.

Co-production is a way of working with, rather than doing to, people and communities to achieve better outcomes. It puts people and communities at the heart of support and services they’re involved in.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The event is for practitioners and managers working in local authority, third or private sector social services contexts, who want to understand more about co-production, develop their current practice, and network with others interested in this way of working.

You may already be working in a co-productive way, know a little about it, or don’t have a clue!

Wherever you are with co-production, this event will send you away more informed and inspired, and with some tools to use in your practice.

GET CLUED UP ON:

Making co-production happen (Plenary)

This session will introduce co-production as an idea and way of working , discuss some of the tools/methods that have helped us work in this way, and give you the opportunity to try out some ‘asset mapping’ to identify what resources you have already to support co-production.

Using evidence for effective co-production (Workshop)

What role does evidence have in a co-production context? Where does it come from? What’s your preferred kind of evidence, and why does that matter? We’ll get going with these questions and by the end of this fast-paced workshop you’ll have scoped out the many forms that evidence can take, and have identified why it’s important for all kinds of co-productive work.

How to share your message creatively (Workshop)

This will be a fun, lively and interactive session which will support you get your message across effectively. Working in pairs, you’ll see how easy it is to think up great ideas and initiatives when you work collaboratively. You’ll be shown some inspiring work, then be given a chance to see what you can do - all in 40 mins!

A personal outcomes approach (Workshop)

This workshop will explore the role of personal outcomes in co-production and introduce a tool, informed by evidence and developed by Iriss, to support a personal outcomes approach in practice.
