Care for the Carers is inviting GP Practice Carer Leads (or a member of the team) to join us for our FREE Carers Lead Learning event.

The day will provide a relaxed environment with an opportunity to gain knowledge, share experiences and network with others.

The morning workshop (10.00am – 12.45pm) – Think Carer - Carer Awareness

  • · Unpaid carers and the impact of caring
  • · The importance of ‘thinking carer’, identifying and supporting carers
  • · Carers rights
  • · Support available – signposting and referral
  • · A ‘Carer-Friendly’ approach – good practice and the role we can all play to deliver the NHS commitment to carers

The afternoon workshop (1.30pm – 4.00pm) - ‘How carer-friendly is your practice?’

  • · Top tips in carer identification.
  • · The framework of NHS Carer Quality Markers.
  • · Carer-Friendly Practice checklist & gaining ‘carer-friendly’ recognition.
  • · The role of the Carers Lead.
  • · Being CQC ready.

The afternoon workshop is being supported by CQC

Refreshments and lunch will be provided during the day.

You are welcome to join us for one or both workshops.
