GP Saturdays Study Session: Managing Complex Dying

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people in Cambridgeshire who are living with a life-limiting illness.  Our care and services are provided free of charge to patients from our new location at Shelford Bottom, Cambridge and theAlan Hudson Day Treatment Centrein Wisbech, North Cambridgeshire.We deliver care to over 1,000 patients each year through our specialist palliative care Inpatient Unit, Day Therapy and Community including Hospice at Home Services, helping our patients and their loved ones to make every moment count.We would not be able to provide all of these services, without the generosity of our supporters, donors, local businesses, community groups and all those who undertake fundraising activities or who give up their time to volunteer from the local and wider community.  We are grateful for their support and involvement

Introduction
These newly developed Saturday study sessions will provide expert clinical information from specialists working in Palliative Medicine. They will focus on essential information, guidance and practical tips to help you improve your skills and confidence in delivering Palliative Care to your patients. The sessions will cover both malignant and non-malignant conditions. 
This education seminar will commence with networking over a hot buffet breakfast.
The Study Day is aimed at:
GP’s with an interest in the provision of palliative care for their patients. 
This Study Day will cover:

<LI>Medical management of complex dying – including delirium, emergencies, prescribing in organ failure, deprescribing</LI>
<LI>Complex ethical decisions – including with-holding and with-drawing treatment, nutrition and hydration, CPR, non-invasive ventilation</LI>
</UL>

Directions and Visitor Parking to the Education & Conference Centre

Car Parking: Delegates and visitors to the Education & Conference Centre should park at the <A HREF="http://cambridgeparkandride.info/babrahamroad.shtml" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Babraham Road Park and Ride</A> located next to the hospice and use the footpath to the Centre.  Car parking at the Park and Ride is free for up to 18 hours. The car park at the Hospice is reserved for patients, families and Blue Badge holders only.
By Public Transport/Taxi: Cambridge railway station is approximately 3 miles from the Hospice. Taxis are available outside the entrance to the station or buses run from the city centre/railway station/Addenbrookes to the Babraham Park & Ride. Cycling: There are secure bicycle racks at the front of the hospice.

What's the payment and refund policy?
All registrations can be completed online using Eventbrite and either paid for by credit card or you have the option to request a company invoice to your practise. If you request an invoice, then payment must be received in advance of the study day. If we do not receive payment in advance, we observe the right to cancel your place. We regret we are unable to offer refunds, before you register please ensure you are available to attend.
