About this event

Hobbies • Photography

Forget perfection. This workshop dives into the Provoke movement’s raw aesthetic: Are (grain), Bure (blur), Boke (out-of-focus). Join Nathan McLune for a relaxed, down-to-earth session where you’ll learn to harness this raw, emotional visual language.

This Workshop Is For You If…

  • You are tired of clean, flawless digital images
  • You want to rediscover photography through instinct and emotion
  • You’re curious how blur, grain and imperfection can tell stronger stories
  • You want to learn by doing, not sitting through a lecture
  • You prefer a small intimate group where you can receive one to one support to enhance your creativity

What Makes This Workshop Special?

This workshop is designed to be a creative, relaxed experience. It’s not about nailing perfect exposures or tack-sharp images. It’s about embracing imperfection, having fun and exploring the raw, unpredictable aesthetic of the Provoke movement.

We’ll be shooting in the vibrant heart of Soho. An area alive with street lights, neon and historic character. It’s the perfect backdrop for creating images that channel energy, grit and mood.

Before we hit the streets, I’ll share the essence of the Provoke style with examples from my own work and past participants. You’ll see how this visual language works in practice and then create your own take on it. This is an intimate workshop, limited to two participants, so you’ll get plenty of one-on-one guidance and space to experiment without pressure. You can see some of the work of my past participants below to get a sense of the distinctive results this approach inspires.
