The Superposition is a self-organising network of artists, scientists, and makers in Leeds and one of the most productive and connected groups in the North of England.ASMbly (A(rt)S(cience)M(aker)bly) Lab  is our annual pop-up studio/laboratory/workshop in Leeds city centre, facilitating cross-disciplinary collaboration between artists, scientists and makers. The Superposition

An introduction to connecting sensors and physics equipment to synthesisers.
Leon Trimble leads a workshop where participants connect vibrations from the universe to an analogue synthesisers to generate and modulate the sounds in different ways. Leon will explain the ins and outs of how physics equipment can be hooked up to synthesisers and how and why the control of voltage can be used to generate and modulate the sound.
Duration: 2 hours
Aimed at: 12+ but younger could be included if accompanied by an adult
If participants like they can bring their own synth with cv inputs if they have them and want to bring them. Leon will have five synths so this is only optional. 
As places are limited, we please ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time of the workshop or let us know if you are running late. If you have not registered for your workshop by the start time, we reserve the right to reallocate your place/s on a first come first served basis.
Leon Trimble is a fellow at Birmingham Open Media and an audiovisual performer researching the fundamentals of video and audio synthesis. He engages science audiences, constructs digital set design for theatre, has his own 360o projection venue and generally tinkers with software and hardware to create live experiences...
