Green Willow Weaving Workshop

MAKE Southwest is a crafts charity with a gallery based in Bovey Tracey, Dartmoor. Our mission is to share the joy of making with everyone and connect people through craft. In 2019 we welcomed 160,000 visitors through our doors and over 11,000 visitors observed craft demonstrations, met artists and makers and took part in making activities within our galleries.

Saturday 30th October 11 to 5 - Join willow sculptor Stefan Jennings and help him make a large willow archway in Devon Guild’s courtyard

To celebrate the Crafts Council's 50th birthday join willow sculptor Stefan Jennings and help him make a large willow archway in Devon Guild’s courtyard. There will be time, and materials, to make small individual pieces as well which can be taken away or attached to the arch structure. Stefan will be using sustainable willow, grown on the Somerset levels and you can learn about how the material is grown and harvested, how to store it, work with it and its traditional and contemporary uses.These sessions are free but you are required to book an hour slotDevon Guild of Craftsmen is an acclaimed exhibition space for contemporary craft and design as well as a leading charity for craft education.Located in Bovey Tracey on the edge of Dartmoor, our large gallery and shop offer a great venue with inspiring exhibitions and events, encouraging people to support, make and learn about contemporary craft.
