Welcome to the Greenwood Bench Making Workshop!No experience required but you must have a keen desire to learn green wood making, as places are very limited.Join us for a full 3 day workshop, starting on Fri Apr 11 2025 at 10:00 AM for a fun and hands-on experience at Coppicewood College. This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in learning the art of traditional greenwood bench making.During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced instructors who will guide you through the process step by step. You'll learn how to select the right materials, use traditional tools, and create a beautiful and functional bench that find a home at the Hope Garden community space.The green wood bench making course will see us taking a log and turning it into a bench or two. You will be using froes, axes and drawknives along with other traditional tools. The three days will be packed full of time on the tools as well as plenty of background and theory thrown in. It should be a great few days that results in a couple of benches for community garden.The course will be held at Coppicewood College in the beautiful Pengelli Forest. Coppicewood College’s purpose built round wood timber frame workshop is a fantastic place to learn the craft of green woodwork.About your tutorsThe course will be taught by David Hunter and Tracey Styles. Both David and Tracey are passionate about managing woodlands and making woodland items using traditional techniques. As well as making a variety of items from garden benches and gates to spoons they enjoy passing on this information through courses. These courses focus on providing a relaxed and friendly working environment as well as quality tuition.
