Description

Welcome All!

It's finally here! The launch of our three beautiful anthologies will be taking place on Friday 8th June 2018 in Oxford and we would be delighted if you could make it!

The idea was originally conceived back in 2014, but the call for submissions started over 2 years later. We spent hours and hours reading through the stories and ensuring that the voices we chose complemented one another and paid homage to the brief.

With gorgeous cover art by the talented Nele Diel, these books are something special!

Infinite Dysmorphia, edited by Pete Sutton & Kate Coe

An anthology of science fiction and speculative stories exploring how science and technology could change what it means to be human. Bio implants, cybernetics, genetic modification, age reversal, robotics and technology...what is the human experience of undergoing these procedures, and what is the advance of technology going to bring?

What does the future hold in store for those who are pushing the definition of humanity?

Terra Nullius, edited by Ellen Crosháin & Kate Coe

Land belonging to no-one. An anthology of speculative fiction that explores the colonisation of our Solar System and far beyond, where pioneers carve out a new existence under other stars. New worlds and new challenges bring out rich stories filled with alien races and strange technology, but against this backdrop there’s the many facets of human emotion as colonists struggle to make a new home.

This is human life on the final frontier.

Holding On By Our Fingertips, edited by Amanda Rutter & Kate Coe

An anthology of science fiction and speculative stories exploring the many different reactions and experiences of people during the 24 hours leading up to the end of the world. Our base instinct is to survive, but when the end is nigh, do we simply lie down and die? Or do we celebrate our life and achievements?

Love, loss, forgiveness, revenge, or just that final goodbye…

At the launch we hope that several authors will share a reading with you (from either their included story or another work of their choice) and we'll ask a few questions surrounding body modification in the future, planetary colonisation, and end of the world woes to spice things up!

After the event closes, we'll be off for some socialising at the local pub - The Lamb and Flag - before heading home.

All three anthologies and a selection of other books and merchandise will be available to purchase in addition to Waterstones own stocked goodies. Browse the shop after hours without the pesky public around!

Nibbles and a glass (or two!) of wine will be provided and we'll have access to the Waterstones cafe for hot drinks.

This is a ticketed event. For transparency, Eventbrite will take 74p per ticket sold and Paypal will also deduct costs. Grimbold is not profiting from your ticket fee.
For those who pay to enter, your ticket will entitle you to £1 off any Grimbold publication or merchandise. This discount will not apply to Waterstones stock and is only valid on the 08/06/2018.

Tickets have proven necessary to gauge stock required and prevent over-ordering of books. We are a small press with limited funds.

If you use Facebook, please swing by and confirm attendance at our online event. We're a social bunch!
