We’re a London based not-for-profit organisation that supports artists and cultural producers interested in or working in the field of arts and health. The Hub is artist led and primarily for artists, although we welcome people from other backgrounds such as health and care professionals. We are inclusive. Our organisation is open to artists from all backgrounds, communities, experiences and qualifications.Whilst we’re London based we also work online and with partner organisations to support artists across the UK.

Groundwork: Designing &amp; Implementing Support for Creative Practitioners

<h3>General Information.</h3><p>This six hour training course takes place over three 2-hour sessions and <strong>you should attend all three sessions</strong>. The sessions take place on the following Thursdays:</p><ul><li><strong>8th June 2023 (2pm - 4pm)</strong></li><li><strong>15th June 2023 (2pm - 4pm)</strong></li><li><strong>22nd June 2023 (2pm - 4pm)</strong></li></ul><p>The course takes place over Zoom and the course outline is below. If you have any questions please <a href="https://www.artsandhealthhub.org/contact" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">contact us</a>.</p><p></p><h3>Who is this for?</h3><p>This training is for organisations commissioning and working with creative practitioners in the field of arts and health. This could include statutory and charitable organisations delivering community arts programmes (i.e social prescribing schemes) and arts organisations that commission artists. This training is not designed for individual artists.</p><p></p><h3>How it Works.</h3><p>Training groups are capped at a maximum of 20 participants to maximise involvement in discussions. Through a combination of knowledge sharing and facilitated group conversations this training will provide you with:</p><ul><li>A greater understanding of supporting the needs of creative practitioners within the workplace, including working in a variety of venues with varying degrees of arts &amp; health projects;</li><li>An action plan identifying achievable short and long term goals specific to your organisation or institution;</li><li>Peer-to-peer discussions exploring insights, challenges and solutions to supporting creative practitioners.</li></ul><p>Groundwork builds on our experiences working on either side of the fence as both commissioned artists and being commissioners.</p><p>The training is comprised of three 2-hour online sessions covering the following:</p><p></p><p><strong>Session 1.</strong></p><ul><li>Defining support — exploring the various support mechanisms that can be offered to create an environment where creative practitioners can flourish;</li><li>Exploring good and bad practice — identifying beneficial approaches and common challenges to providing sustainable support.</li></ul><p><strong>Session 2.</strong></p><ul><li>Means of offering support — exploring diverse ways in which support can be offered to creative practitioners with an individualised approach;</li><li>Developing a code of best practice for your organisation — considering formal and informal support, accessibility and flexibility, identifying existing and new resources.</li></ul><p><strong>Session 3.</strong></p><ul><li>Short and long term action planning — identifying individualised and achievable actions for your organisation</li><li>Developing a bespoke pledge to supporting creative practitioners — designing an ethos outlining your organisation’s sustainable commitment to how it supports creative practitioners.</li></ul><p></p><h3>Optional Follow-up Package.</h3><p>The follow-up package includes access to one online facilitated session with a cohort of previous training attendees. This provides an opportunity to reconnect with your training peers (from yours and previous/subsequent cohorts), share progress and benefit from both facilitated and peer to peer solutions to specific challenges. These meetings are arranged approximately every 6 months. There is an additional fee (paid ad-hoc) for any subsequent meetings.</p><p></p><h3>About the Facilitator.</h3><p><a href="https://www.danielregan.photography" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Daniel Regan</a> is a photographic artist, facilitator, producer and consultant working across multiple leadership roles in the arts &amp; health sector. His artistic practice focuses on the transformational impact of arts on mental health, building on his own lived experience. Daniel is the Founder and Exec Director of the Arts &amp; Health Hub.</p><p>Daniel has experience of working on both sides of the fence as a commissioned artist within a multitude of arts &amp; health environments and as a commissioner of hundreds of artists in the sector. His experience comes from extensively working in NHS hospital arts, commissioning artists through the Arts &amp; Health Hub for a range of projects, and from devising and delivering the Hub’s innovative <a href="https://www.artsandhealthhub.org/resources" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Support Hub</a> project. This pilot support project was funded by Arts Council England in 2020, with renewed funding to upscale across London, Manchester and nationally online from 2022-2025.</p>
