Discover Leicester with our sociable group walks. From green spaces to waterways and urban trails, Leicester is fantastic to explore on foot.

Group Walk: Exploring South Highfields</h3><h3>Wednesday 19 November at 11am</h3><h3>Starting at the gates of <a href="https://osm.org/go/eu5bTor2R-?m=" title="https://osm.org/go/eu5bTor2R-?m=" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Prebend Gardens</a>, Prebend Street, off London Road - a short walk from Leicester Railway Station. What3Words location: ///lines.minds.riders</h3><h3>A walk of up to 90 minutes. Steady pace. 1.4 miles.</h3> New for autumn 2025, join us to explore the streets of the South Highfields Conservation Area, focusing on stories of some of the noteworthy people associated with it. We include a world-famous singer, explorers of the Antarctic and Amazon Rain Forest, people involved in the infamous ‘Green Bicycle’ legal trial of the early 20th century, and more. Alternatively, phone 0116 454 2860 (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, excludes bank holidays). Adult places must be booked. Booking is not required for children. Children are welcome to attend, however they must be accompanied by an adult.If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel via Eventbrite or contact us by phone (during office hours) so we can allow others the opportunity to attend.TravelThe walk begins on Prebend Street, a 5 minute walk from Leicester Railway Station, London Road. London Road is served by buses. You will receive an email with a link to the online form in the days leading up to the event. You only need to do this once and can attend any of our walks thereafter (subject to booking a place on Eventbrite).Dress for the weatherRemember to dress appropriately for the weather. Our group walks will go ahead in most weather.
