Guardian Digital Development: demystifying getting a job in tech
Wed 29 June 2016, 18:45 – 21:00 BST
The Guardian Digital Development Department is hosting the 4th in our series of networking events.
The tech team in the Guardian is made up of amazing people from a variety of backgrounds and with diverse qualifications - in our experience the route into tech is only sometimes conventional. This event is targeted at those who do not already have a career in tech: the aim of the evening is to help demystify the tech industry - the roles, and the routes into it - to those interested in a career in tech but unsure of how to proceed.
The evening will kick off with an informal panel discussion: a variety of speakers from different sized companies - from startups to larger businesses, and including the Guardian - will speak about the different roles in their own tech departments, and the varied paths to working there. They’ll answer questions and give insight into how to start the sometimes daunting journey of landing a first job in tech. If you have a question that you would like the panel to discuss please email or tweet us! Contact details are given below.
After the panel discussion we will have an informal networking session where attendees can meet like minded people, as well as the people behind our digital teams.
