Gudula's Gathering- Well Dressing and Procession
A joyful new May ritual for Ashburton. Come adorned in fresh foliage and dress the well, honouring precious water and the dawn of summer.
Performance: Well dressing and procession – a new May ritual for Ashburton
Sunday May 3rd, 16:00, outside Ashburton Arts – FREE – All welcome – but please book tickets
Join the three River Spirits – Avon, Dart and Teign – and St Gudula, the patron saint of the blind, in celebration of the dawning of summer.
Gather greenery and flowers to adorn both yourself and St Gudula’s well, and join a joyful procession through the back streets of Ashburton, honouring the precious water that sustains all living things. At St Gudula’s Well, there will be a short well-dressing ceremony, before the parade returns, to the sound of music and drums, to Ashburton Arts Centre.
