Guided Walk to Glenrickard

Cnoc na Dail Car ParkBrodick
Monday, Mar 2, 2026 from 11 am to 1 pm GMT
Overview

Join us for a guided walk through the woodland at Glencloy.

Glencloy Woodland Walk & Pilot Project Visit which includes a visit to the proposed pilot project site linked to Dùthchas Arainn CBS Community Asset Transfer application with Forestry and Land Scotland.

This walk offers an opportunity to explore how community land ownership can support:

  • Sustainable forestry
  • Climate-resilient livelihoods
  • Woodland crofts and local enterprise
  • Practical approaches to long-term community resilience

As we walk the site, we’ll discuss what community stewardship could look like in practice, from sustainable timber and biodiversity restoration to low-impact economic opportunities rooted in place.

All activities connect directly to our ongoing Community Asset Transfer proposal, demonstrating how local land use can contribute to Arran’s environmental, social and economic resilience.

This is a chance to see the landscape up close, ask questions, and be part of a conversation about the future of woodland on Arran.

Please note the post code is the closest post code to the parking site, which is located about 1 mile from Brodick heading towards Lamlash.

This event is part of Arran's Envirnment Week.
