The world has changed over the past twelve months. What does this mean for those making a living from the arts?

The creative landscape is almost unrecognisable from twelve months ago. What does this mean for those making a living from the arts? We have to adapt. Or be left behind. In this session, participants will look at the skills they have, and will be enabled to realise the potential adaptability of those skills. Through hands-on and practical interactive exercises, participants will explore the present and the future reality of the creative industry.Emma Baim is a self-employed Creative Practitioner with a background in Applied Theatre and Secondary Teaching. Over the past 20 years, she has performed in a number of regional and touring productions for The New Vic, Stoke; The New End, London; Art Rebel, LA; and The Carriageworks, Leeds as well as many studio theatres around the country.Guildhall Elevate: Online Alumni careers events Guildhall Elevate is a new series of online careers events for alumni, focussed on developing the skills and confidence of our graduates and supporting them as they begin or progress on their career path.2020 has demonstrated that the future of work will be skills-driven, and Guildhall alumni have a wealth of transferable skills, from creative critical thinking, adaptability, cultural understanding, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. Guildhall Elevate aims to give graduates the confidence to utilise these skills and adapt to the ever-changing workplace. As well as self-improvement, the events will provide a fantastic opportunity for alumni, students and industry professionals to network and share ideas.
