The I&E Club in collaboration with the VC/PE Society is thrilled to announce our 4-day in-person Hackathon & Pitching event.

Brainstorm on your best idea and get ready to pitch to VCs investors! Throughout this 4-day and in-person event, you will brainstorm and elaborate your idea, and if selected, you will have the opportunity to present with your team in front of VCs, so get ready! The event will occur from Saturday 11th of June to Tuesday 14th of June. Each day of the event will be necessary to attend to get as much information and support as possible. You will be allocated time to work with your peers.To support you in this Hackathon, we have a well-rounded itinerary and an amazing prize to win for winners and finalists. Our theme for this year is the following: The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed many fallacies of the healthcare system which includes accessibility, varying access to good quality healthcare depending on geography, demography, age, gender, socio-economic status and so on. The challenge around accessibility has caused great inequities across society in terms of the quality of life people experience. These inequities pose a big challenge for society and an opportunity for solutions addressing various aspects of the problem. We have an exciting Jury for this hackathon: Judges from Imperial College Investment Fund, Speedinvest founders and more to be announced! The pitching competition will happen on the last day of the event, on Tuesday 14th of June, we will send out more information in due course.In essence, a busy programme ahead of you: workshops to prepare for your final pitch, discussions, allocated time for group work, and coaching sessions! Stay tuned for a detailed picture of the agenda! To participate, please be aware of the following team requirements: - Groups should be 4 to 6 people- Minimum requirement: All group should have 1 Imperial College student- Ideally; all groups should have 1 Imperial STEM student and 1 Imperial Business School student- Make sure to mention your team preferences- If you don’t have a team yet, you are still welcome to sign up! (You will be added to a team)Groups are subject to changes, we claim the right to form and change groups 5 days ahead of the event, we do our best to take your preferences into account, but groups can&#x27;t comply with the preferences, we will reach out to you. By registering and attending the Healthcare Hackathon &amp; Pitching Series 2022 (“Event”), you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”). 2. All registered undergraduate and postgraduate students (full-time or part-time) and alumni up to 3 years post-graduation from Imperial College and other London-based universities are eligible to participate in the Event and receive prizes. 3. A prize which might potentially be allocated to the winning team will be divided equally among the team and awarded individually to each member of that team. 4. At all stages of the Event the judging panel’s decision is final. 5. By taking part in the Event you agree that you are providing consent and authorisation for the use of any images and footage of you obtained during the event for marketing purposes. 6. When requested, you will provide appropriate information about your project for the Event for publicity purposes. 7. By taking part in the Event you agree that any ideas/intellectual property generated within your team during the course of the Event will be deemed to be owned equally by all members of the team. At the end of the Event, team members can choose to continue to work on these ideas generated within their teams together or can choose to work on the idea independently of each other. 8. The Event is an ‘Open Hack’ meaning that neither the organisers, nor the Sponsors have any claim to the intellectual property generated by the participants at the Event. However, the status of the ownership of any pre-existing intellectual property generated outside the Event will remain unchanged and will continue to be owned by those that owned it before the Event.   9. At all stages of the Event you will communicate with staff, facilitators, speakers, sponsors and fellow Event participants with civility and respect.  10. During the Event you will not engage in any conduct which may cause harm to students, alumni, staff and external speakers or sponsors. This also refers to following rules on entering and leaving campus and in particular the business school.11. You will act with integrity and will not violate another person’s dignity, or create an intimidating, hostile, degrading or offensive environment for others.  12. You will show consideration for others. Violent, aggressive, drunken, destructive, or other undesirable behaviour will not be tolerated. This includes sexist, racist, homophobic, or similar behaviour.  13. During the Event you will not record a conversation or workshop, for example in a 1:1 or a group activity without seeking prior permission. There are exceptions related to the Disability Discrimination Act. A participant with a statement of, for example, dyslexia (this may also apply to some other disabilities) may be allowed to record meetings, programme sessions and 1:1s or have the use of a note-taker.  14. You are expected to use social media responsibly. Offensive or inappropriate messages sent to other Event participants, staff or sponsors will not be tolerated.  15. Imperial College London retains the right to disqualify you from participating in the Event immediately if you are in breach of these Terms and Conditions. 16. Imperial College London retains the right to disqualify applicants or participants from participating in the Event or receiving a prize if there is a reasonable ground to suspect that the participant is in breach of the eligibility requirement set out at clause 2 above. 17. Imperial College London reserves the right to cancel or suspend the Event or amend the Terms and Conditions without notice (e.g., due to a very low number of sign-ups).18. Imperial College London shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered by any participant taking part in this Event.
