Hackathon

UCL Bidborough HouseLondon, England
Thursday, Mar 12 from 9 am to 6 pm GMT
Overview

Get ready to code, collaborate, and create at our upcoming ISD Hackathon!

Welcome to the UCL ISD Hackathon!

Join us for an exciting day of coding, collaboration, and creativity at Bidborough House. Whether you're a seasoned coder or just starting out, this event is perfect for anyone passionate about technology and innovation.

What to Expect

Work in teams of 4-5 to brainstorm and develop projects. The theme will be announced the week before the event, but we always try to leave room for creativity. Any type of app or solution can be created - a study planner, a website, a notification system for sending push messages right into your phone - but you will be judged on how well your solution addresses the theme. In preparation you can start thinking about the problems you see around you now faced by UCL staff and students, and the wider university community.

The day will kick off with a keynote speech. You then have the full day to come up with and build a product, with experienced mentors on hand the entire day to assist in a variety of ways. Each team will then showcase their product in front of a panel of judges in the late afternoon, followed by an award ceremony and drinks. Lunch will be provided.

This event is open to all UCL staff and students at any university, all you need to bring is a laptop! Teams will be assigned on the day.

Any questions, please get in contact: Billie: b.dartnell@ucl.ac.uk, Cara: cara.s.evans@ucl.ac.uk

Any technology is permitted to make your vision a reality, but UCL can provide specific support and tooling for the following:

Deployment environment: AWS

Languages: Python, React, Typescript.
