Hacking Human Centred Design for Social Change
Thu 4 May 2017, 10:00 – 16:30 BST
This workshop is for anybody working for a charity or cause who wants to make a bigger impact sooner. You might be a campaigner, fundraiser, manager or service colleague. What is important is that you want to make change happen.
We are going to be exploring a toolset called Human Centered Design. This says that to make long-lasting change happen you should start from the perspective of understanding the person for whom you are designing. We need to understand what people really think, feel, want and need. And then by understanding people’s problems, design alongside them to build stronger campaigns.
Human-Centred Design can be characterised as a multi-stage problem solving process. It is repeatable, powerful and fun. It also works. It has a 30-year track record.
This course is led by two experienced campaigners with more than 30 years’ combined experience of making change happen.
- What is Human Centered Design?
- How Human Centred Design development practices improve the likelihood of campaign success
- Repeatable tools and techniques to use to build campaigns that win.
