Celebrate Halloween with an R-Ladies Chicago Hacktoberfest! • What we'll do: We'll contribute to open source projects on GitHub while snacking on fall-themed treats! Costumes are encouraged! We'll open some issues in our organization repo (<A CLASS="link" HREF="https://github.com/rladies-chicago" TARGET="__blank" TITLE="https://github.com/rladies-chicago" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://github.com/rladies-chicago</A>). Complexity will range from *very* beginner-friendly to intermediate. We'll then work together to make some pull requests (PRs). We're open to any contributions: from fixing a typo on our website to adding a tutorial to our R-beginners repo! If you are working on a project that you would like contributions to, let us know and we'll add it to our list! There will be no formal technical talk at this meeting; rather, this is a time to network with fellow R-Ladies while doing a collaborative coding activity. This is part of our “social” Meetups, focused on networking and idea exchange. • Collaborative Coding: We know the idea of coding with others can be daunting, but this is a safe space and everyone is welcome (even if you do not know how to use R yet). This will be a relaxed environment and a good chance to meet some of your fellow R-Ladies, so please do not feel like you do not know enough to join in. • What to bring: If you can, bring a laptop and be ready to make some pull requests. FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Government-issued ID is required for entrance.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
No.
How do I find the entrance and check-in desk?
Enter on the north lower-level (corner of Stetson and Lake) and walk toward the security table by the Starbucks. Once checked in, take the escalators to the upper bank and take the 40-54 elevator to 50.
