harpVox

Linlithgow Jazz hold monthly events, on the first Saturday of the month, in Queen Margaret Hall in Linlithgow (53 Blackness Rd, Linlithgow EH49 7JA). Performances are primarily listening events although sometimes a small number of dancers can be accommodated. Performances normally consist of 2 sets of approximately 1 hour each, with a 30 minute interval between, The hall is unlicensed so attendees are advised to bring their own drinks and nibbles (not forgetting glasses, plates etc too!) Tea and coffee is available at the interval for a small donation

<p>Regulars will know that we normally take a break from our monthly events in August due to holidays and musicians working in festivals, the Fringe etc. So no jazz this month, but we will still be providing live music on our normal first Saturday of the month, with singer Sue McHugh bringing her new venture - harpVox - to LInlithgow. But don&#x27;t expect the &#x27;normal&#x27; harp repertoire - Sue plays a mixture of easy listening music, mainly classic pop/rock songs from the 60s onwards, some folk, some jazz, some wildcards. An eclectic mix of songs from a random selection of artists like The Cure, Fleetwood Mac, Elvis Costello, Bob Marley, Karine Polwart, The Beatles, Cyndi Lauper (and many more!), all done with just voice, harp, a looper and some effects pedals and - hopefully - some audience participation, as - after a short first set - the audience will have the chance to select which songs feature in the next 2 sets. A harpVox jukebox! This will be a chilled, relaxed evening, with some great songs.</p>
