HATLAB: The Launch Event

The Hub of All ThingsEcosystem is a network of organisations working to change the Internet using personal data accounts belonging to individuals through the ownership of their own Personal Data Servers. Personal Data Servers are built on  the open sourced HAT technology, created through the £1.1m  6 U.K. universities UKRI funded grant project that has since expanded to more than £33m funding in the space of personal data, decentralization and digital transformation. The Ecosystem is made up of numerous commercial, non-profit, and research organisations  dedicated to enabling every Internet user to legally own, store and use their own personal data in their personal data servers.The ecosystem is managed byDataswift, the operator of the technology platform, in collaboration withHAT Community Foundation (HCF)serving participating universities, researchers, startups, and the enterprises in the United Kingdom and around the world.

<H2>Come for the darts, stay for the rigourous discussion on the future of research in a decentralised data environment</H2>
<P>We are kicking off the HATLAB, with a casual get together for the researchers and industry partners of the DROPS, ACCEPT, PriVELT, FOOD, COMEHERE, BeVID, TESCON, SideMATE, PAC-Man, and DEAS grant applications. Of course, all our friends of the HAT are warmly invited as well. Do you have something better you want to be doing on a Monday afternoon?</P>
<P>Leaders of the various HAT-related projects in the HATLAB will have a chance to introduce their projects over the course of the evening, and connect with the developers, industry supporters, and researchers from other universities in the ecosystem. We'll play darts till around 6:30 and we'll get a few plates of nibbles and such to tide us through our athletic endeavours.</P>

<H3>Introducing the HATLAB </H3>
<P>A unique and welcoming innovation network where new projects, MVPs, and pilots/proof of concepts are created on HAT technology, for the HAT live environment.</P>
<P>We support a community of people working on HAT related projects, and catalyse HAT collaborations with governments, universities, industry and startups. HATLAB brings together people interested in designing and creating all forms of artefacts on the HAT from an app, to a tool, to a plug, to a set of legal rights, a framework for permissions, a machine learning algorithm, or a method.</P>
