Event Details

As part of the work of the Mission Innovation (MI) Affordable Heating & Cooling of Building Innovation Challenge, this workshop will bring together technical experts, policymakers and innovators to identify the key research, development and demonstration gaps and most effective opportunities to accelerate progress towards making low-carbon heating and cooling affordable for everyone

The workshop will focus on the six priority areas identified within the challenge. These are:

  1. Thermal energy storage
  2. Heat pumps
  3. Non-atmospheric heat sink and sources
  4. Predictive maintenance
  5. Building level integration
  6. Physiological studies

 The workshop will result in:

  • The identification of significant research, development and demonstration gaps and needs that are vital to deliver the goal of accelerating the development of clean and affordable heating and cooling technologies.
  • Measurable targets and metrics for each priority area with a workplan describing next steps including possible collaborations between MI member countries.
  • Increased networking and face-to-face interaction between MI members and wider experts.

This workshop will be held alongside the International Conference for Solar Heating & Cooling for Building and Industry and the ISES Solar World Congress which run from 29 October - 2 November. This is a unique opportunity to connect with the international renewable energy community and learn about the latest in renewable energy developments world-wide.
