A session about hens at Glengall Wharf Garden's chicken coop.
Hen Workshop
City living removes us from the realities of the food chain. We strive to bridge that gap. An integral part of our permaculture garden system is our flock of rescue chickens.
Max will take you through a brief history of keeping chickens while giving practical, hands-on experience so you can get to know and love our ladies! Chickens are highly intelligent, form strong social bonds and can even distinguish colours, shapes and numbers!
You’ll feed the chickens and learn handling techniques.
*Due to bird flu restrictions, and to limit the spread, all participants must adhere to strict hygiene standards
The event is a collaboration between London South Bank University and Glengall Wharf Garden.
The site is mostly level but has some steps.
