Sands Films is a production space and recording studio.The Music Room concerts are delivered to a small inperson audience and live, online. We never charge for delivering art and culture:  our events are free to access to all. However, we do rely on a certain amount of donation so we can pay technicians and musicians. Sands Films is a London Living wages employer and we pride ourselves to be a sustainable business. The voluntary support of our audience is essential.

Sands Films presents a new film about Cuba's cultural heritage from Africa

Sands Films Cinema Club online in colaboration with CUBA SOLIDARITY CAMPAIGN and with the support of Southwark Council for Black History Month.followed by a Q and A with Director Ana Hurtado.A fascinating and important new film exploring Cuba’s collective African heritage, from the point of view of Cubans interviewed. Members of rumba group Yoruba Andabo, and other black Cuban dignitaries, intercut with music, talk about the stories, religion, music and culture. &quot;it is not just about &#x27;influence&#x27;, Africa is a real presence in Cuba, it is central to its current identity.&quot; Miguel Barnet, Cuban writer.The presentation and the film will also show up on Sands Films Facebook page and on Sands Films webpage: https://www.sandsfilms.co.uk/studio-live.htmlThere will be a &quot;Chat Box&quot; readable by all, intpo which you can send us your messages, commenst and questions.This event is part of Black History Month and is supported with a small grant received with thanks from Southwark Council.Testing the stream connection will be around 7.45, the presentation will start at 8.00 sharp and the film soon after.
