The dates of this course are: Monday 21st October & Wednesday 23rd October, 9:30-13:00. Learners are expected to take part in both days to complete their course.
Do you want to become ‘Carbon Literate’ and gain awareness about the causes and impacts of climate change to better understand your and your organisation’s carbon footprint? Join your peers and colleagues to collaborate and generate ideas on what a low carbon heritage organisation looks like.
We are delighted to deliver the Historic England Heritage Carbon Literacy Training course to help organisations take steps towards reducing their carbon emissions and become more environmentally sustainable.
More about the course:
This is a positive and action-focused course which takes place over 2 half days on Microsoft Teams. Learners must attend both days in order to be able to pledge actions and to receive a certificate at the end of the course. The cost of the course is funded by Historic England and learners will only have to contribute £10 (the cost of the certificate). Each course has only 12 slots available so book early to secure your place! (Please note that places are available to one person from each organisation)
What is carbon literacy? Is this course for you?
Carbon literacy is: “An awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.” (Carbon Literacy Trust)
The course has been specifically designed for heritage organisations by Historic England, and the trainers have work experience in the heritage sector. This course will give you the basics you need to understand causes and impacts of climate change, empowering you to take action.
