Hidden in Plain Sight

New research reveals experiences of unpaid Carers with disabilities and/or long-term health conditions in Highland.

Join us on Friday 13th March at UHI Inverness as Connecting Carers launches 'Hidden in Plain Sight', a powerful new piece of research bringing long-overdue attention to unpaid Carers in Highland who are living with disabilities and/or long-term health conditions themselves.

Across Highland, 32% of unpaid Carers are managing their own health challenges while caring for someone else because of illness, disability, or age. Hidden in Plain Sight sheds light on the emotional, physical, and financial pressures this often unseen group faces, as well as the barriers they encounter when trying to access the support they need.

At this special event, we’ll share the key findings, reflect on what they mean for Carers and services across the region, and invite your questions and perspectives. We’ll begin with a buffet lunch and relaxed networking session, a chance to connect, share ideas, and meet others who are passionate about improving the lives of Carers in our communities.
