Event description
To the moon and back. Marking 50 years since man first set foot on the moon, the 2019 Himley Bonfire is going to be out of this world.

About this Event

Sponsored by Wates Living Space

Using state of the art pyrotechnics, visuals and complementary soundtrack, we will take the audience back to 1969 as astronaut, Neil Armstrong walked on the moon.

The words of Neil Armstrong marked a change in the world as he said, “That’s one small step for man. One giant leap for mankind”

Himley Bonfire is the largest council run fireworks display in the UK and is a firm favourite on family annual calendars.

We are also celebrating other important events and popular culture of 1969 such as The Beatles release of Abbey Road, Concorde's first test flight, Boeing's 747 jumbo jet debut and Woodstock which attracted 350,000 rock and roll fans.
