The Cornish Bank is a vibrant, not for profit, community music and arts space in the centre of Falmouth, Cornwall. Hosting gigs, events and food nearly every night of the week it’s a pretty exciting place to be a part of. Based in Brighton via Falmouth on the south coast of England, Holiday Ghosts conjur the airy fun of Richard Brautigan if he had a band and was from England and wasn’t a hippie or a beatnick and he didn’t wear those big hats or have that mustache and his name wasn’t Richard, or Brautigan, and he wasn’t a writer or an artist of any kind.An ongoing musical collaboration between partners Katja Rackin and Samuel Stacpoole, now joined by B. Spanks and Morgan Lloyd-Mathews. Call it garagy, jangly, rock n rolly, indie, punky, poppy, whatever you wanty. They frame their own takes on the human experience with a sound that is lean, under-processed and straight to the point.Support from Penryn pop-punksters, Tremoans. Deliver upbeat bass-driven songs underpinned by catchy riffs and lyrics that will make you think, make you laugh and get the room jumping! With a veritable smorgasbord of influences from The Velvet Underground to Suicide, The Vaselines to Courtney Barnett (and of course the Ramones)
