Event description

Description

Loads of women, non-binary and LGBTQ+ folk tell us that they experience silence from both public bystanders and those close to them when they experience street harassment. That’s why we facilitate story sharing spaces, to break the silence, build solidarity and care for each other, whilst also feeling empowered with skills to challenge street harassment when we see it.

*Come along to this free workshop to:*

- explore what street harassment is and how we can define it

- share stories of our own experiences of these intrusions

- discuss our responses to harassment and intrusions (non-judgmentally – all responses are valid)

- brainstorm what bystander interventions can look like and practice using these skills through role plays… don't worry if you hate role plays – totally optional and fine to watch instead

- learn more about the Hollaback! London collective; what we've done, what we're doing and how to get involved.

***There will also be opportunities to chat in the breaks and for a bit afterwards – snacks and pop provided***

This workshop is open to people of all genders and identities. The venue is wheelchair accessible. We can organise and pay for transport - DM us.

Hollaback! facilitators will be available should anyone want to talk about anything that’s come up for them during the workshop, and we will also provide information about sexual violence support services should anyone wish to access support.
