Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration 2026
Join us in Telford and Wrekin to remember and honour the victims of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides on this special day.
Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD), 27 January 2026, marks 81 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and 31 years since the genocide in Bosnia. It is a day for everyone to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution and in the subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. We will honour the survivors of these regimes and challenge ourselves to use the lessons of their experiences to inform our lives today.
This year’s theme, ‘Bridging Generations’ looks forward to what actions we can take to avoid and prevent these horrendous acts from occurring again by sharing experiences and awareness intergenerationally.
Join us as we hear from local young people sharing their insight alongside community speakers and a guest speaker from Generation 2 Generation, a Holocaust Education Charity based in the UK
