Aunty Social is piloting some Art Sessions for home educated young people.
Our first run of 6 sessions will be with Blackpool-based artist, Karl Hanrahan. These will be delivered on the theme of Urban Landscapes (e.g. street art, architecture, cityscapes).
Participants will utilise prior knowledge, peer discussion, image and information research to support understanding of the theme and to influence designing.
Taking into account varied individual learning styles and interests, participants will be offered a choice of directions to explore the theme. Participants will be free to interpret the brief in their own way, researching their chosen theme idea and developing their own design ideas.
Next, they will choose between drawing/painting, collage or 3D model making to produce a final design. Throughout the project particpants will practice evaluating and planning to assist with their creative skill development.
Young people must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for supervision. Supervising adults would not be participating in the activity but we will have somewhere for them to hang out and a brew station.
The sessions will be split into two age groups as follows. Please let us know if you feel your young person would be more suited to a different group.
- Thursday 23rd May 10.30-12.30 (Primary age)
- Thursday 30th May 10.30-12.30 (Primary age)
