Speed networking with a twist, bring along a story, project or idea that has inspired you or your work recently, and come ready to share as part of one-to-one conversations...

A Hopeful Hack is an interactive, real-time activity designed to encourage connection by sharing stories of hope and inspiration about other people or organisations. It promotes a culture of storytelling focused on the positive impact others are making in the world.

We're bringing the Hopeful Hack to the Somerset House Resident Community Programme, coinciding with Creativity and Wellbeing Week (19-25 May).

Responding to your feedback and consultation, over summer 2025, through workshops, events and activities, we will explore how we can better practice collective care and support creative wellbeing within our resident community at Somerset House. Who are Someone Else?

Someone Else is a networking platform that offers you the opportunity to celebrate, amplify and champion the work of others. All over the world, millions of people are acting and organising around hope, solutions and action. Some are acting as individuals, others as communities and enormous organisations. We need these stories now more than ever. By highlighting these stories and categorising them through the UN SDG's, we’re helping connect people to ideas and organisations that they never knew existed.

Where is the Exchange?

The Exchange is on Level -1 of the New Wing of Somerset House. If arriving via New Wing, access via the South Stairs.

The space has step-free access, please get in touch if required. There is an accessible toilet in Exchange. There will also be a quiet space in the back room of Exchange.
