Face To Face Portraiture at Newquay Orchard

These 6 week courses with Hugh Appleton will give you with all the necessary knowledge, understanding, and techniques to achieve a likeness, to draw portraits in charcoal, and to paint portraits in oils.

*Please note - the correct date for this Masterclass is 19th April 2022.*This Newquay Orchard Masterclass is all about seed sowing practice and theory along with vegetative propagation (cuttings) and associated theory.The Horticulture Masterclass at Newquay Orchard is perfect for anyone new to gardening or for those who want to develop their technical knowledge in a safe and welcoming environment. Hetty, our Sustainable Landscapes Manager, and Sarah, Newquay Orchard’s Education Manager are excited to share their expertise after working and teaching in gardens across Cornwall. All the information taught in the Horticulture Masterclass will be based on sustainable organic principles as these are techniques Newquay Orchard and our team are proud to uphold in our own food production. Refreshments will be provided and the day will also include lunch at Canteen at the Orchard so participants can taste the herbs and vegetables grown in Newquay Orchard’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) market garden.Covid-19 measures will include access to hand sanitiser and sanitised tools and equipment as well as maximising time spent outdoors. Classroom based activities will be ventilated and face coverings will be required when inside. If stronger Covid-19 restrictions are put into place which deems this event unable to go ahead we will reschedule the Horticulture Masterclass and tickets will still be valid.
