About this event

Welcome to Freshwalks and in association with Nell's and Kuits Solicitors we're excited to bring you the latest edition of the Hospitality Hike in 2025, a special event, dedicated exclusively to supporting the hospitality sector.

Swapping the intensity of hospitality pressures for the outstanding scenery of the Peak District, we hope you'll be able to switch off for the day to reconnect with nature and benefit from the fresh air.

We'll move at a relaxed pace so you can enjoy the fabulous scenery and each other's company, reflecting upon mutual challenges and to help foster a spirit of collaboration for the future.

Please note that this event is fully funded. Your ticket price will cover a drink back at the pub afterwards and any change will go towards The Christie Charity. We've also created a limited number of specialist supplier tickets (eg. media, breweries and stock suppliers).

Route description

This circular route explores a wonderful and slightly quieter part of the Hope Valley at a time of year when the landscape will be changing colours with hillsides awash with purple heather and autumnal hues creeping into the leafy foliage down in the valleys.

We set off from Hope station and traverse farmland in the direction of Bamford, from where we'll begin a stiff climb to the top of Bamford Edge.

After a short picnic stop we'll descend towards Ladybower reservoir, passing public toilets at Heatherdene. Crossing and then skirting the reservoir, we'll begin our second climb of the day, ascending the rugged Win Hill via ancient woodlands. After enjoying the stunning 360 degree vista back down towards the Vale of Edale on one side and reservoirs on the other, we'll start our final descent back into Hope village for well deserved refreshments at the Old Hall Hotel.
