Speakers:<ul><li>Antonia Bright – Movement for Justice Chair</li><li>Sheroy Zaq – Solicitor, Duncan Lewis Public Law</li><li>Prossy Nakalinzi - Movement for Justice member and former Yarl&#x27;s Wood detainee 2013</li><li>A recent detainee of Yarls Wood and cross channel refugee</li></ul>PANEL 2: 11.45 - 13.15Unlawful pushbacks in the Mediterannean and the English ChannelThe increased demonisation of migrants and asylum seekers results in many being drown at sea or unlawfully sent back to Turkey, Libya, and recently with the increase of small boat arrivals in the UK to mainland Europe. Our speakers are all activists who have taken action to minimize the inhuman consequences of the changing nature of global politics. Speakers:<ul><li>UK T0 EUROPE: Toufique Hussein - Duncan Lewis</li><li>ITALY TO LIBYA: Omer Schatz - Lecturer in International Law at Sciences Po (Paris) </li><li>GREECE TO TURKEY: Amelia Cooper - Legal Centre Lesvos; Seán Binder - RESOMA - research platform on European asylum, integration and migration policy documenting cases of criminalisation of humanitarian assistance.</li></ul>PANEL 3: 14.00 - 15.30 Climate Justice and MigrationAs climate change becomes a major factor driving forced migration, this panel will explore the ways in which strategic litigation and campaigning can serve to change a system built on legal, economic and social frameworks that fail to address the urgency of the climate crisis, while controlling and repressing the rights of migrants.
