Founded in 1948, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) is the professional body for public relations practitioners in the UK. With over 10,000 members involved in all aspects of public relations, it is the largest body of its type in Europe.The CIPR advances professionalism in public relations by making its members accountable to their employers and the public through a code of conduct and searchable public register, setting standards through training, qualifications and the production of best practice and skills guidance, facilitating Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and awarding Chartered Public Relations Practitioner status (Chart.PR).The CIPR was granted its Royal Charter by the Privy Council in February 2005.

In preparation for the CIPR Chartership Assessment Day in Birmingam on Monday 17 October, two of our members who have  gone through the process themselves will describe their experience of becoming a Chartered PR Practitioner. They will offer advice on how to prepare for the day and ensure that your application is a success.
