ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS

Each session is practical, interactive and completely free to attend. Our presenters are renowned EU and business experts.

Our workshops are open to all London sole traders, small and medium sized businesses with a turn-over of less than £44m, and that have been trading for over six months.

These workshops are presented by the London Growth Hub and delivered by BrexitHelp.net. They are part of the Mayor of London’s #LondonIsOpen campaign – promoting a city that is, and will continue to be, the best place in the world to start, build or grow a business.

Our workshops and advice clinics will help you to:• Develop a Brexit plan – actions you can take to show partners, clients and suppliers you are prepared

• Understand how Brexit will impact on import and export arrangements and what you need to do to maintain your trade with EU countries

• Know what you need to do to for current and future EU staff, including new employment requirements

• Navigate potential changes to contracts and insurance

• Map key opportunities and risks for your business with sector-specific insights and case studies

Trainer Bio:

Sietske de Groot, Director - London

Sietske is a well-known and recognised EU expert. Before setting up her own consultancy TradePeers Ltd, she represented the Federation of Small Businesses at EU level. For example, she lobbied on the General Data Protection Regulation, Food labelling rules, Geoblocking rules, and VAT on e- services and online sales. Sietske also worked on aviation issues in Brussels, and filled policy roles in local government in the Netherlands and the UK, where she secured EU funding for several projects.

Sietske has worked on EU legislation and free trade deals throughout her career, and knows what reasonably can and cannot be expected from the Brexit negotiations, and how specific rules may change. During her time at the FSB, Sietske has been closely involved in the negotiations for the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

Sietske holds a double Masters degree in Political Science and French Linguistics from the two universities in Amsterdam. She has lived in The Netherlands, France, Belgium and the UK, and worked with several partners in other countries, including the USA.
