This workshop has been designed for voluntary and community organisations to understand and identify how they can best engage with different groups of people to help ensure that they can deliver their purposes and activities.

It will help people develop confidence and knowledge to plan to engage and recruit trustees and volunteers; learn how to effectively work and implement best governance practices with a team of trustees/ volunteer directors; understand the personal roles, rights, and responsibilities of trustees/volunteer directors and how they are protected within the context of the organisations chosen legal form; and gain tools and methods to attract and retain trustees and volunteers' continued engagement, inclusion and support.

Other outcomes include -

  • Confidence and knowledge to plan to engage and recruit trustees and volunteers.
  • Know how to effectively work and implement best governance practices with your trustees/directors.
  • Understand the personal liabilities of trustees/directors and the protection available as detailed in governance.
  • Gain the tools and methods to gain and keep trustees and volunteers continued engagement, inclusion and support.

Who is this course for? If you're a new or an developing organisation then this session is for you. Or you're planning to recruit new trustees and volunteers to your organisation then this would benefit as a refresher course.
