We are the CIPD Branch in South London; welcome to our events listing page.We set up face-to-face and online events covering a range of relevant, current and useful topics for people professionals. Branch members, and those living in other branch areas, are welcome at our events. This event is to offer support to students and entry level HR professionals starting their journey.

LSBU Croydon Campus

Join us and industry experts for a 4-hour interactive session aimed at helping you to align your career goals with the current opportunities offered by labour market where through our outstanding speakers we will help you find answers to your questions and inspire you to find the best course of action to land your dream job. During the event we will explore:<ul><li>Future proofing your career</li><li>Working more effectively with your HR recruitment agency</li><li>Using social media to advance your career</li><li>Transitioning from campus to workplace</li></ul> We are also extremely pleased to welcome and Kelsa Albert as our guest speakers and our higher education expert Fiona Wheeler from LSBU who will be leading our discussion. HR Ambitions backgroundSouth London Branch has run HR ambition session in the past as we understand an importance of supporting young professionals in their early career steps which are often very challenging part. Every single of us has been there and we do not want you to feel alone in your journey, therefore we lend a helping hand and are happy to share our experience. What will be covered at the session and what attendees will gain:<ul><li>Understanding various HR career paths</li><li>Introduction to the HR network</li><li>Insights of people experience</li><li>Understanding of the recruitment market</li><li>Introduction to CIPD community and available benefits</li></ul> About the speakersLeading our discussions - Fiona WheelerFiona originally started her career in Marketing working for the financial services industry prior to moving into Learning and Development and Human Resource Management whilst pursuing her CIPD qualifications.She is now a Senior Lecturer for London South Bank University primarily in Human Resource Management and Development with an emphasis on employability for 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate students. Her passion is all about connecting people so that they are aware of the opportunities available to them and giving them the tools to access different career pathways.

Kelsa AlbertKelsa is a Senior Manager for Global Learning Experience at Deckers Brands (Ugg, Hoka and Teva), a University Lecturer and Public Speaker. She has worked in Learning &amp; Development for 12 years and has expertise in squiggly career development, inclusive workplaces, coaching and leadership development.Recognised for her contribution to academia, Kelsa has received multiple academic awards and in 2023 was named Rising Star in the Consumer &amp; Luxury industry by the Black British Business Awards.Kelsa holds an Msc in Organisational Psychology and a CIPD Certificate in Human Resources. She’s a certified Clifton Strengths Coach and Certified Neuroleadership Coach which she utilises in the corporate world as well as coaching &amp; mentoring young people from less privileged backgrounds outside of work. Kelsa was born and raised in London and in another life would have been a West End dancer!

Adam PurchaseWith a decade of experience in the UK, Adam is a seasoned expert in People and Talent recruitment within Commerce and Industry. Originally from New Zealand, Adam brings a unique perspective and a wealth of insight to his role.
