Hull Open Studios Talks – Studio Support
Hull Open Studios Talks – Studio Support: Adele Howitt and Wes Foster
Studio space is fundamental to an artist if we’re to protect and nurture the future of artists in the city and prioritise long-term growth and development. During this round table panel discussion, our speakers will, amongst other things, discuss how to set up a studio and DIY approaches to building a studio community, the ecosystem of practice growth in studio settings and wider city contexts, the development of studio facilities and buildings, what principled and transparent conditions for occupation of studio spaces look like and the role of organisations in supporting artist development in studio environments through commissions and artist development programmes.
This event is part of Hull Open Studios 2026. Hull Open Studios is a celebration of creativity and community, offering artists the chance to open their doors, share their practice and connect directly with audiences. It’s an opportunity to showcase work, meet new people, sell pieces, and be part of a citywide celebration of Hull’s vibrant creative scene. Find out more
