Description

Dear Cybersalonistas,

Time for Xmas celebrations is approaching, so please join us at the next Cybersalon on 7th December at Red Gallery and stay for Xmas drinks/ festivities with a very special DJ set from Simon Sarginson.

The event will kick off from a discussion panel on the topic close to our hearts:

Humans and Machine at Work - Distopia or Utopia?

A new book under this title has just been published by Palgrave and it brilliantly reveals to what extent workers' data is the new oil.

We are very lucky to be able to host one of the authors, Alessandro Gandini (Kings College) who is emerging as a leading voice in work surveillance investigations and will share his new findings with us.

We are also delighted to host the legendary David Dahlborn whose impact on Independent Workers Union GB, couriers resistance and organising of gig-economy workers can not be overstimated.

This year we are dedicating Cyberalon events to investigation how human dignity can be protected in the face of technology progress at workplace and determination of the employers to turn newly available biological data into a new tool of monitoring.

Will it be Human against the Machine or is there a way we can co-exist in a human-centred way?

Looking forward to seeing all!
