“And Life Goes On!"

My story begins with the event that changed my life on 13th September 2018 - a massive brain haemorrhage caused by an AVM rupture. I have journeyed from a wheelchair through to relearning to walk; regaining my independence and also acceptance of the new me. I will never be the person I was before!  This trauma and my ongoing journey to ‘wellness’ has moulded me in many ways. My aim is to share some insights into brain injury and stroke with you, (even dispel a few myths!), whilst spreading a little more understanding of these massively life-changing, unseen effects.

Join us at Rugby Library on Saturday 18th May for our Human Books event!

Human Books are volunteers who share their stories with you, the readers. In 20 minutes, you can learn about a stranger’s life, their journey, and what they’ve learnt along the way, embracing the opportunity to open up and listen to another human being without judgement.

We welcome readers over the age of 18 to these events, as many of our books will be sharing challenging experiences, and potentially using sensitive language.

Please read the titles and blurbs carefully before you select your book and time slot. There are limited slots per book, so please ensure that you cancel ahead of the event if you are unable to attend.

We have 7 'books' for you to choose from with different time slots for 1 to 1 sessions. To see the other 'books' at our event, head on over to our collection at eventbrite.com/cc/human-books-hear-a-strangers-story-3292069
