Overview

A practical look at the techniques used to trick users into executing malicious content and giving attackers their first foothold.

This half day event will be hosted by Halo, and organised by the Northern WARP. This is session one the Human Firewall series. (You do not need to attend all sessions if you are unable to do so, each session tackles a separate part which can be attended as a standalone event.)

Content

A practical look at the techniques used to trick users into executing malicious content and giving attackers their first foothold. The session covers real-world phishing, “click-fixing,” web-filter bypasses, and emerging AI-driven social engineering tactics. We’ll discuss why some simple controls (like ad-blocking and application control) can be surprisingly effective in stopping attacks early.

This event is open to all iNetwork members & Northern WARP member organisations (you do not need to be the named person for the WARP to attend this meeting.)

If you can no longer attend, please decline the calendar invitation or contact karys.thompson@tameside.gov.uk
