INVITATION HUMAN Roundtable October 4

Forced Labour: How to effectively reduce the risks in supply chains

We are delighted to invite you to the HUMAN 2018 Roundtable. This is the second of two collegial roundtables that aim to support you in translating the aspirations of the UNGPs in solid business practice, particularly focusing on due diligence and reporting processes.

The focus of this roundtable will be on how companies and investors can best deal with forced labour risks in their supply chains. SDG 8, Decent Work, can only be realized when forced labour is eradicated from supply chains. Especially complex supply chains with indirect suppliers are at high risk. Together, we will look into the tools available to deal with forced labour risks and learn from each other’s experiences.

In this roundtable, leading companies and investors will share their experiences on forced labour risks in their supply chains and you are invited to think along on how remaining challenges can be solved.

You are invited to share your views and experiences on Thursday October 4 at the PwC office in Amsterdam. We invite front running companies, financial institutions and subject matter experts on the existence of forced labour in a business context.

What is HUMAN?

HUMAN is a partnership between ICCO Cooperation, PwC, CNV Internationaal, and VBDO to advance the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights in the Netherlands. In the past four years, the HUMAN conferences successfully facilitated a dialogue between companies, investors, civil society organizations, research institutions, and governments on human rights & business. In 2016 and 2017 we continued this dialogue in the form of informative roundtables. In 2018, we aim to further increase our impact and support you in translating the aspirations of the UNGPs in solid business practice.

We hope to welcome you on October 4th!

Yours sincerely,

Arend van Wijngaarden, CNV Internationaal

Wim Hart, ICCO Cooperation

Joukje Janssen, PwC

Angélique Laskewitz, VBDO
