Join us at the Theatre Deli for a 3 day workshop filled with laughter and compassion!
This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in using humour and play to create an impact in communities.
Led by expert facilitators, we will explore the principles of humanitarian clowning through games, activities and discussion.
Trauma-informed practice - an introduction
Become a more effective, adaptive and resilient practitioner by transforming your arts-led practice so it is trauma-informed. We will explore the basis of trauma-informed practice, drawing on Clowns Without Borders’ years of experience in crisis zones, to explore how strength, hope and resilience can be built in the most adverse of conditions.
In this workshop you will learn about:
- Trauma-informed practice and why it’s important
- Key principles to keep in mind when planning workshops/events to support a trauma-informed approach
- The scope and limits of trauma-informed practice
Humanitarian clowns in communities
From the self, to the practice, to your community; we will explore the application of humanitarian clowning to the places where you locate your practice as artists, facilitators, and creatives.
At the end of this workshop you will have:
- A hands-on understanding of the practice of clowning in humanitarian settings
- A set of tools that you can use when working with people in your context
- Found your place within CWBUK's community of humanitarian clowns, and made a valuable contribution to this growing area of practice
No previous performance experience is necessary just a willingness to engage in creative play and to learn and share together.
We can't wait to meet you.
Please get in touch if you are unsalaries/low income, we have a number of discounted places.
