Neil Vickers is Professor of English Literature and the Health Humanities at King's College London. He has had a career in epidemiology and has published widely on literature and medical subjects. He is the author of Coleridge and the Doctors (2004) and co-author of BEING ILL - On Sickness, Care and Abandonment (2024). This latest book explores how serious illness can often change the way others see us. Few, if any, relationships remain the same. The book focuses on our sense of self when ill and how infirmity plays out in our relationships with others.

Felpham Public Lectures are hosted by St Mary's Church, Felpham and are open to all. They are FREE but please book a ticket. We offer an interval with refreshments. Donations are gratefully received if you can do so.
