Triangles are a basic building block in weaving and a good starting point when learning how to tapestry weave. To celebrate the launch of Huntly Room To Weave, I invite you to join me for my first workshop where I will show you how to warp a frame loom and demonstrate basic tapestry weaving techniques to make your own triangle themed weaving to take home. Thanks to a VACMA I will provide looms for you to use for the weekend, warp thread, instructions and a good variety of creative weft materials to experiment with. In this sustainable workshop we will use both traditional wool and yarn from my studio, as well as found plastics, recycled fabric strips and any other materials you would like to experiment with from your own landscape and home. You can get to Huntly by train or bus and to celebrate the launch of Room To Weave I am asking you to pay what you can for this first workshop once you arrive (a suggestion of £40 for the weekend but funding allows me to offer spaces to be accommodating). Be sure to reserve your spot here. This is intended to be a playful and inclusive introductory workshop to get you comfortable with weaving and to get me comfortable with teaching. Sat and Sun 10-4 (and we can work later on Saturday if we want). Soup, tea and coffee...and cake too! (vg/gf)
