Join us for the first Creative Coding Circle, focusing on Hydra, which is a platform for live coding visuals inspired by analogue modular synthesis. It is built in javascript by Olivia Jack and be extended through the use of custom image textures, videos and camera inputs.We will introduce you to the basics of Hydra, focusing on how image sources can be transformed, modulated, and composited by chaining together different functions.You will then have time to experiment, learn with others, and share what you've learnt with other attendees.No coding experience is necessary. 18+ Only.Requirements:<ul><li>A Windows, Mac, or Linux laptop (sorry, Chromebooks, phones or tablets will not work)</li><li>A web browser, preferably Chrome or Firefox</li></ul>Please note that these Creative Coding Circles are only open to Black people. We define Black as "Black African, Caribbean, Afro-Latinx and African-American heritage, including those of mixed-Black heritage who identify as such."Questions?
