About this event

  • Event lasts 30 minutes

In this live online panel event, we’ll meet three inspirational female role models working in a range of computing-related roles. We’ll find out what their day-to-day role looks like, and why skills such as programming, data and algorithms, might be more widely applicable than you think. Our role models will also share their tips for navigating your education and career next steps.

Hana is a Lead Engineer at the Ministry of Defence. She started off in Aerospace Engineering, but her keen interest in technology led her to her current role. She leads on a project to use data and coding for a variety of tasks, including plane maintenance and mission planning.

Tao is a Data Scientist at Arm. She only started learning about computer science whilst at university studying maths, before this she hadn't had much exposure to the subject. She currently uses data and programming to find technology solutions for companies.

Fiona is a Managing Solution Architect at CapGemini. She started working in the technology industry over 25 years ago as a database administrator and now leads a team of 10 product architects and over 200 developers.

This event is targeted mainly at students in Key Stage 3 but may also suitable for other age groups. Viewers will have the opportunity to submit questions for the panel during the event.

This event is organised by the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) supported by Computing Ambassadors. To request Computing Ambassador support for your school, go to the STEM Ambassador platform.
