The I.Family Study is a major research project on health, food and lifestyle among European families. Over nearly ten years, we have examined children’s development, looking for ways to improve young people’s health and tackle problems such as obesity. Our researchers have worked with large groups of children and adolescents in eight European countries, studying dietary patterns, physical activity, local environments, family relationships, friendship networks, and biological and genetic factors.
This one day conference will share important findings from the I.Family Study and its focus will be on informing policy and practice, at local, national and European levels.
Conference sessions will include:
- community interventions to prevent obesity in children
- local environments and physical activity
- dietary patterns that support health
- family environments and their effects on children’s choices
- the importance of sleep
- the role of friendship in adolescence, and,
- promoting health in vulnerable children and families.
The I.Family Study Final Conference is for everyone with a practical, professional or policy interest in supporting and improving children’s health across Europe. You will take away insights around food, health and lifestyles, supporting innovative practice and evidence-based policies, including the major challenge of obesity prevention.
